Edge Global Congress
November 6, 2019
As data is generated at ever more exponential rates, and globally moves us towards the age of Yottabyte, so compute processing power disperses across enterprise, and cloud resources...
For this edition, Datacloud spoke to Christiaan van Terheijden Chief Executive Officer at Minkels, part of the publicly traded company Legrand
Datacloud: What do you see for the future of the industry?
Lots of dynamics:
- Movement towards cloud/ hyperscale
- Growth of IoT platform
- Acquisitions in DC market – big companies are getting bigger
- Economy based on regions instead of countries
- Need for global customer approach
Datacloud: What is the biggest opportunity in the industry today?
IoT -> IoT eco system with big data back end (cloud), edge infrastructure with edge processing and analytics (micro DC’s) as well as mobile connectivity 5G
Datacloud: What's one of your goals for the next year and how do you expect to achieve it?
One of our goals is to grow internationally with complete dc infrastructure solutions -> global approach to customers and serve the same product everywhere with the same quality with local services. From Minkels point of view we are lining up operational sites close to all major DC hubs in the world. Of course being part of the Legrand group is a huge benefit.
Datacloud: What do you think matters most in the development of the industry and its effect on business and society?
IoT for sure, the growth figures are staggering and the effects will be highly visible in everyday life.
Minkels will be at the Datacloud Europe 2017 congress in Monaco June 6-8th. Meet them there
