Edge Global Congress
November 6, 2019
As data is generated at ever more exponential rates, and globally moves us towards the age of Yottabyte, so compute processing power disperses across enterprise, and cloud resources...
For this edition, Datacloud spoke to Peder Nærbø, Founder and Owner at Bulk Infrastructure AS
Datacloud: What do you see for the future of the industry?
I see a potential for tremendous growth, but also a growing concern for the environmental consequences of the growth to come
Datacloud: What is the biggest opportunity in the industry today?
I believe the greatest opportunity today is for those who can offer scalable data center solutions powered by renewable energy sources at lower than the general market cost. However it needs to be done without carving out existing renewable resources that are already substituting fossil fuelled power.
Datacloud: What's one of your goals for the next year and how do you expect to achieve it?
My goal is to raise international awareness of the enormous opportunity that lies for enterprises and cloud operators on the N01 Campus in Norway. We expect to achieve it by signing contracts with companies that want to become more sustainable and reduce over all costs at the same time. However they might not want to reveal to the market about their advantages so we need one or more to be willing to tell about it.
Datacloud: What do you think matters most in the development of the industry and its effect on business and society?
I think it matters a great deal that the industry finds sustainable solutions for the power consumption future data centers needs. The industry needs to be proactive in order to avoid risk of the consumer or regulators forcing sudden changes to the industry”
Bulk will be at the Datacloud Europe 2017 congress in Monaco June 6-8th. Meet them there
