Invest in Denmark

Steen Hommel is Director of the national Danish IPA, Invest in Denmark. As part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Invest in Denmark is a one-stop service for foreign companies looking to set up a business in Denmark. Working with green datacenters as a strategic focus area, Invest in Denmark this year succeeded in attracting Facebook. Being host to two hyperscale data centers, including Apple’s data center announced in 2015, allows Denmark to further understand requirements and professionalise our dialogue and services in this field.

Steen Hommel holds a MA in Business from Copenhagen University and in 1998, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Within the foreign service, Steen Hommel has managed the financing of development projects in North Africa and Asia, served as deputy to the Danish Embassy Kuala Lumpur and headed the Trade Council customer relations. From 2012-2016 he was the Danish Ambassador to Poland, before he in 2016 took over the position as Director of Invest in Denmark.
